Good comic and a good comedy writer I believe. Sorry to lose such a person in a time when we all could really use a good laugh or two.

R.I.P. Norm

Deadpan comedian as mentioned. A comedians comedian as they say. I felt a tinge when I heard last night. Maybe because I saw he was a couple years younger than I. He had been battling cancer for years and kept it private. Bummer.

Always liked his twist on things.

That's the Canadian twist...wry, deadpan, ironic and sometimes deadly. Eugene Levi, Bob and Doug MacKenzie, Catherine O'Hara, John Candy, Mike Myers, Lorne Michaels, etc. et al!

He really liked to tweak the noses of the "bosses" class.  When Don Ohlmeyer ran NBC he had Norm M fired from SNL for making OJ Simpson jokes as Ohlmeyer and Simpson were friends.  As Ohlmeyer's threats increased, so did Norm's OJ jokes.  Thought his best OJ joke was not on SNL but at the Espy's.  Charles Woodson had just won the Heisman, Norm said:  "Charles, they can't take that away from you.  Well, unless you kill your wife and a waiter."
